Fifty Shades of Deception

I know countless blogs have been written about the much awaited movie and bestselling book "fifty shades of Grey". I told myself that there is simply no need for me to write anything else on the topic. I mean EVERYONE had something to say about it, people have both defended and condemned it. But then it hit me as I sat and read countless blogs and comments to these blogs, that nobody really address the simple truth behind why so many of us, both Christian and non Christian, are so wrapped up in reading and seeing fifty shades of grey. We are a nation whose hearts are far from God...that's it the very simple truth behind this craze.

I don't have to mention that the writing of this book is nothing special, yet millions of people around the globe have become obsessed with its content. Our hearts and desire for God is so far off that it’s easy for us to eat up this garbage, we will say that " it’s all innocent fun" and that "we just want to spice up life a bit". See our excuses doesn’t make this franchise more acceptable. The craze behind it all shows that there is a deep disconnection between us and God. When we truly desire the things of God movies and books like fifty shades of grey will hold no appeal to us ,when our hearts are aligned with the heart of God our desires change, so that what He desires we desire.

I have read countless arguments in favour off this book and I must say all of them are weak at best, a feeble attempt to justify a pornographic, violent filled book. What shocks me most is that self professed Christians are at the forefront of the pro fifty shades of grey franchise. It is sad  to see that we are not set apart from the world...see nothing in that book shows any morsel of true love as so many women have convinced themselves. What is love, where does our understanding of love come from???God is love Jesus is the perfect example of what love looks like and in a time when we question what love is we need to go back to the source. Christian and Anastasia’s love story is in no way a love story, it is a perversion of what God calls love. Love is NEVER about self in any form or way, so why than are we so convinced in the beauty of a broken man being saved by a women who is in herself very broken? It’s because we ourselves have forgotten the meaning of the God kinda love, WE are so far from the creator of love that we will take any cheap imitation of it.

The enemy is always up to some or other scheme to pervert the perfect creation of God, and sadly so often than not we make it very easy for him. We CANNOT say we seek God's heart but yet watch this filth that violates the very nature of God, He IS LOVE, He is the blueprint to find and recognise love, nothing else will do.

No matter how hard we try and justify and defend why we are watching it, or no matter how much we insist it’s just harmless fun it simply will not be true. When we desire Jesus, I mean truly, absolutely and in every way, we WILL desire the things He does. There is no fence, there is no double standards, it doesn’t work that way.

All this book and movie did was reveal a deep rift that exist between us and God, that we no longer lay down at His feet and find all that we need in Him, instead we go find comfort in the arms of Christian Grey....
