Jesus Freak

This has been on my mind for quite a while and I was meaning to write a post about this for ages.But better late than never so here goes.

I have been hearing how most Christians refer to some Christians as "born again",and they don't usually mean it in the nicest way.There is this notion going around that there are two types of Christians;the nosy born again's that just want to "force" everyone into Christianity and the the conservative Christians that believe that your relationship with God is personal and private.

Now see I have a HUGE problem with these views and its time that the record needs to be set straight,yes a relationship with God is personal and intimate ,but don't mistake it as being just you and God's business.See God is in the business of people and He is a God of relationship and thou our relationship with Him is personal and intimate it is not exclusive.We do not get to keep God to ourselves,we do not get to keep the good news to ourselves.If God really wanted that, I highly doubt he would have commanded His church to follow Him AND be fishers of men (Mark 1:17).We are not lone rangers in our faith,love commands action,so why the disillusion that in Christianity every man is for himself?The bible is our guide to all of God and when uncertainty creeps in I suggest you open that good old book and find out what God has to say about something.

Having said that,let me jump right into the issue with born again vs Christianity-spoiler alert it is one and the same thing.To be a Christian means to believe and follow Christ.The only way Jesus considers us His followers is when we are born again.So its not something "weird" Christians do,its something ALL Christians should do.We have become so disillusioned about the things of God that we often categorize it as myth.So now you thinking "where does she get off saying that",well its in the bible and if you really did not know that I suggest you spend some serious time in the word of God.Being born again is a fundamental aspect of our faith.

In John 3:3 - Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

1 Peter 1:23 - Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Romans 6:4 - Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

John 3:5- Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Romans 10:9- that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

1 Peter 1:3- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Romans 10:9-10- that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

John 3:8- "The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

Colossians 2:13- When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,

I can put so many verses down that speak of us having to be being born again,so why  is this such a foreign concept to so many Christians?We are new creatures in Christ,therefore we have God's heart and His desires.His heart is saving people,so why are we so passive about something He is so passionate about?

So next time you are tempted to say "those" born again's ,think twice, for are you also not born again in Christ?have you not confessed Him as Lord?If so,guess what your one of "us".

Don't become passive in the things of God,He loves us passionately,let us proclaim Him passionately!!!

I AM BORN AGAIN AND PROUD!!!!
