God and homosexuality
Now I did not just sit and decide that I feel in the mood to attack homosexuality,this post, as most, was inspired by something I saw on the internet recently.And it is just not in me to let lies roam out there.

See we live in a generation where people expect a feel good message,this generation of Christians want all the good the word of God promises;prosperity ,blessings,health,love.Its is good to want those things, as it is our inheritance,but we tend to forget that God has called us to a life of righteousness.But what is righteousness?To be righteous is not to be right all the time or even to be perfect, but to be in right standing with God.To be in right standing with God requires sacrifice and obedience,so why is it that when the word of God tells us something we first see if it will make us popular or acceptable to the world?
See God never intended for us to be in romantic or sexual relationships with the same sex.In the beginning when God created Adam,He said it was not good for him to be alone (Gen 2:18).As a result to this statement God created Eve as a help-meet for Adam,Not only was she to be a help-meet, but God instructed them to be fruitful and multiply( Gen 1:28).It was God's will for Adam and Eve to "know" each other and multiply.If God did not mind whether Adam was with a man or a woman,I would think He would have created another man and a woman and told Adam "pick your pick".
There is this huge debate even in the church about whether homosexuality is biblical or not and whether God approves of it or not.We need to look at what the word of God says and what He says should be law in our lives.So here are a few verses where God addresses homosexuality:
1.Leviticus 18:22
"Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin." (NLT)
2.Leviticus 20:13
"If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense." (NLT)

3.1 Timothy 1:8-10
Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine ... (ESV)
There are several passages where God speaks out against homosexuality.It was NEVER in God's plan to practice such relationships.So some of you may ask how do I know what God's intentions are?Well I go to the one place that always gives me all life's answers-The Bible.See apart from the fact that several passage in the bible speak out against homosexuality, we also need to look at the nature of the act and match it to the nature of God.
Many homosexual acts get practice outside of the marriage covenant.Now sex outside of marriage is in no way biblical.God tells us not to defile the marriage bed
Heb 13:4 "Marriage is to be held in honour among all and the marriage bed is to be undefiled ;for fornicators and adulterer God will judge".
God created Eve to be both a help-meet for Adam and to procreate.See God never creates something that can not replicate and grow,everything God does is to be sustainable.Homosexuality does not allow for procreation,it does not fulfill the command to be fruitful and multiply.The enemy is always trying to attack and corrupt what God creates.I truly believe homosexuality is a corruption of God's intention for sex.
God calls us to love all people but to hate sin,so many times words get twisted and the church is portrayed as haters of homosexual persons,we should love the person but hate the sin. Jude 23 says it so well "Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives. (NLT)"
The one thing the world does have right is that they "where born that way",as shocking as this may sound, that is true.Homosexuality is a sin,we where born into this world with sin,we have the nature to want to sin.That much is true,BUT when we are reborn in CHRIST, we are cleansed from sin and called as righteous.ALL sins are washed away,ALL SIN.So if homosexuality is a sin and God washes away sin, than God removes that nature from us and RESTORES us to who He intended us to be from the beginning of time.
We cannot decide what works for us and what does not in the bible.God has called us to obedience not because He is a control freak, but because who else knows the creation better than the creator?Everything God tells us to do is for OUR benefit.There is so much blessing in obedience, yet it is one of the biggest things we struggle with today.
Going back to the slogan at the beginning of this blog,of late I have seen many verses used in the promotion of homosexuality.Wherever the word eunuch is mentioned it is assumed that its someone who practices homosexuality.Eunuch is a man who has been castrated,that's it.It may have been common practice for some of them to practice homosexuality ,but that does not mean that it was godly.
We the church are not to cast anyone away who comes to the Lord,but it is our duty to teach and correct,if we can not speak truth than why are we here?The church is not a museum for saints, but a hospital for sinners.We can not truly seek God and His heart and not be completely changed.God calls us to repentance,repentance is complete turn away from sin.
We are not called to please the world with lies,we are called to speak God's truth.Many times the truth is not popular,but it does not make it less of the truth.

Romans 1:18-32
But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.... Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.
But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.... Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.
So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.
That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.
Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God's justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. (NLT)
