Where is your heart?

Luke 14:34 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also".We are all very familiar with this verse ,but do we really understand it?Where you place you heart is what will become the treasure of your life.We all have different treasures because of where we place our hearts.

If you constantly long for money,a big house or a husband,what ever it may be, than that will become the treasure of your life.If you long for God and place your heart in HIM than guess what,He WILL become your treasure.

A treasure is something we find of great value and would move heaven and earth to keep and protect.What have you allowed to become the treasure of your life?

I had always placed my heart on very earthly things,success,fame,spouse and without realising it they became treasures in my life.I spend hours dreaming of how I would get these things,however Jesus never made that list.Although I called myself a Christian ,God always came last in every aspect of my life,He was my afterthought,a little prayer I did at the end of a very busy day.God was lucky if He even got ten minutes out of my entire day.
It was very hard for me to seek God and meditate in His word,because my heart was in so many places, but not in Him.

The day I gave my life to God, a shift occurred,the first step in the right direction,but God does not automatically become our treasures,we have to choose to give Him that position in our hearts.As we surrender more to God we shift our hearts towards Him and we start to treasure our time with Him more and more.We find ourselves hungering for Him and doing anything for Him.
When God becomes the treasures of our hearts He holds a position of authority in our lives,it becomes a delight to follow Him and do His will.True treasure always brings rewards and as God becomes our treasure our lives become richer for it.

Do you protect your personal time with God?do you long to be in His presence?does He occupy your very being?When God becomes our treasure,these things will become as easy and essential as breathing to us.
