Single and ready to mingle
So let me ask you "what would you do if God calls you to a life of singleness?".I am not saying He will, but what if He does.Is our hearts so set and secure in God that we can find complete fulfillment in Him?Is serving God more important to you that finding a spouse?Sometimes we spend so much time looking for a spouse that we neglect the work of God.We think that we can start that work as soon as we are married, but God did not tell us to first get married than labour for His kingdom,we are to put God's kingdom first (Matthew 6:33).If God commands us to seek His kingdom first, why are we constantly busy spouse hunting when we hardly have an intimate relationship with God?
Matthew 19:10-12
The disciples said to him, "If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry." 11 Jesus replied, "Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. 12 For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it."
Now I find this conversation very interesting. The disciples felt that it was better not to marry, because Jesus said that unless fornication was the reason, than divorce is out of the question(see Matthew 19:9).Now chew on this a bit, marriage is no child's play and the disciples recognized that, when Jesus told them that you just cant up and leave when the going gets tough. So they sought singleness as the better option, yet again Jesus tells them that this is also not a choice just because you are afraid of commitment in marriage. He clearly says at the end of the verse " the one who can accept this must accept this".See neither marriage nor singleness is for your purpose, it is to build the kingdom of God.We listen so much to the secular world's view on dating and singleness that we have completely lost track of the real purpose of our existence.
WHETHER YOU ARE MARRIED OR SINGLE LET IT BE FOR THE ADVANCE OF GOD'S KINGDOM!
You are not married for your own selfish reasons, nor single, but to complete a call on your life that advances God's kingdom.
How are you spending your single season?are you fishing for the next boyfriend or are you a fisher of men ? (Mathew 4:19)
Don't get lost in single or not game, get lost in HIS cause:
Mark 16:15 " And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."
